Ghanaian tennis player Gwendolyn Duwor Klu reached the girls' singles final at the J30 Accra – Tennis Foundation Ghana Open, which is concluding at the National Tennis Centre in Accra, Ghana. In the decisive match, she will face Nigeria's Goodnews Eyinjuoluwa Aina, MyJoyOnline reports.

Klu, who won the first week of the singles competition, defeated Israel's Shira Dvir 6:3, 6:4 in the semifinals. Her opponent Aina reached the final after a three-set match against Togo's Winner Gakpo — 6:4, 3:6, 6:4. The match lasted nearly three hours.

Singles finals

In the boys' singles final, Chinese tennis player Ruoyu Hua will play top-seeded American David Beckles. Hua defeated Nigeria's Seyi Ebenezer Ogunsakin 6:2, 6:0 in the semifinals. Beckles overcame an Indian opponent — 6:1, 7:6(5).

The ITF World Tennis Junior Tour tournament brought together young tennis players from Ghana, other African countries and other regions. Participants are competing for ITF ranking points and international experience.

Ghanaian representatives in doubles

Another Ghanaian representative, Jeff Frimpong, reached the boys' doubles final alongside Britain's Denzell Darki. In the title match, they will play Spaniards Javier Montes Jimenez and Raul Sanchez Romero. In the semifinals, Frimpong and Darki defeated Nigeria's Chukwudubem Amasiani and Israel's Yarden Shalom Gamliel — 7:6(4), 6:4.

Klu is also in contention for the girls' doubles title: alongside Winner Gakpo, she will play against Goodnews Aina and Shira Dvir. In the semifinals, the Ghanaian-Togolese duo defeated Nigeria's Success Godwin and Taiwan's Morgan Hsu — 6:1, 6:2.
