Kenya urged to solve national team problems before Africa Cup — Nation Kenya

The editorial board of the Kenyan publication Nation Kenya has called on the Football Kenya Federation and the country's government to resolve problems in the Harambee Stars national team ahead of qualification for the 2027 Africa Cup of Nations. The editorial says that the team begins its qualifying campaign with a match against Eritrea.

Problems in the national team camp

According to the publication's assessment, the team's preparations are being complicated by players boycotting training sessions. The players complain about unpaid dues, low pay, food and training conditions. The editorial board noted that the Football Kenya Federation and the Ministry of Sports had been aware in advance of the qualifying cycle and the need to provide proper conditions for the team.

The publication also drew attention to the situation involving head coach Benni McCarthy. According to the editorial board, he has not received a work permit since his appointment in March last year, which is why he leaves the country after every campaign.
