In the U.S., more than 700 drones were intercepted near sports venues during the World Cup

Since the start of the World Cup in the United States, more than 700 drones have been intercepted and confiscated while flying in no-fly zones near stadiums and other sports facilities. 

This was reported by the Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI). The confiscation of the drones was made possible by coordinated efforts between the FBI, local law enforcement agencies, and the U.S. Department of Homeland Security in all 11 U.S. cities hosting tournament matches. The World Cup will take place in the summer of 2026 across three countries—the United States, Canada, and Mexico.
