Taif to host 22 horse races with prize fund of 2.8 million riyals — Asharq Al-Awsat
The ninth week of the 2026 horse racing season will begin on Friday at King Khalid Racecourse in Taif, Saudi Arabia. A total of 22 races with a combined prize fund of 2.8 million Saudi riyals are scheduled for Friday and Saturday.
Programme for two evenings
Eleven races will be held each evening. The competition programme was reported by Asharq Al-Awsat, citing the Saudi Press Agency.

The main events on Friday will be three sprint championship cups over 1,200 metres. Each of these races will carry a prize fund of 250,000 Saudi riyals.
Races for auction horses
On Saturday, the Jockey Club of Saudi Arabia races over 1,400 metres will be held for fillies and colts sold at the 2025 auction. Each of these races will offer prize money of 450,000 Saudi riyals.
