UEFA has named the head referee for the Champions League final
The final match of Europe’s most prestigious tournament between France’s Paris Saint-Germain and London’s Arsenal will be officiated by a German refereeing team led by Daniel Siebert. For the 42-year-old referee, this will be his first time officiating a decisive match in a senior European cup competition.
This was reported on the official UEFA website.
This season, Daniel Siebert has officiated 33 matches, issuing 136 yellow cards and 4 red cards, as well as awarding 12 penalties. He will be assisted by Jan Seidel and Raphael Fortin, while Bastian Dankert and Robert Schroeder will be in charge of the VAR system. Swiss referee Sandro Scherer has been appointed as the fourth official.
The decisive match of the 2025/26 season will take place on May 30 at the Puskás Arena in Budapest. For the English club, this final will be only the second in its history following a loss to Barcelona in 2006. The Parisian team will serve as the nominal home side at the Hungarian arena, which has previously hosted a Europa League final.
As a reminder, legendary Inter Miami forward Lionel Messi has reached the incredible milestone of 900 career goals during his professional career.
