Ugo Ugochukwu becomes the first Formula 3 champion from the United States
According to Channel NewsAsia, citing Reuters, 19-year-old Ugo Ugochukwu became the first representative of the United States to win the FIA Formula 3 championship title in Madrid, Spain. The Campos Racing driver finished second in the final round of the season at Madring during the Spanish Grand Prix.

The New York native finished the championship 14 points ahead of Britain's Freddie Slater. The 18-year-old Slater, who is part of Audi's junior programme, had led his American rival by 15 points before the race weekend.
