Ukrainian women won bronze at Euro 2026 in diving
Ukrainian divers Ksenia Baylo and Sofia Vystavkina won bronze medals at the 2026 European Aquatics Championships, which are being held in Paris. The decisive moment came in the final round, where the Ukrainian duo performed a dive that received the highest score among all competitors.
In the synchronized 10-meter platform diving final, Baylo and 17-year-old debutante Sofia Vystavkina were outside the top three after the first three rounds. The turning point came with their fourth dive, which had a high degree of difficulty and earned the Ukrainian pair 75.84 points—the best single-dive score of the final.
At the end of the competition, the Ukrainian duo scored 286.20 points and won the bronze medals. The champions were Great Britain’s Maisie Bond and Louise Tullson (300.06 points), while the silver went to Germany’s Pauline Pfeif and Elena Wassen (298.20).
This is already the second medal for the Ukrainian national team at the 2026 European Diving Championships. Earlier, Kseniia Baylo also won a bronze medal in the mixed team event.
For 17-year-old Sofia Vystavkina, this award marks her first medal at a senior European Championship. Meanwhile, for Ksenia Baylo, this is already her 14th medal at the continental championships, six of which are gold.
This was reported on August 2 by the Ukrainian Diving Federation and Sport RBC.UA.
As a reminder, UEFA has appointed the refereeing crews for both matches between Kyiv’s “Dynamo” and Azerbaijan’s “Qarabağ” in the third qualifying round of the 2026/2027 Conference League.
August 2026 promises to be an eventful month for sports fans. Ukrainian athletes will compete in international tournaments for medals, ranking points, and new achievements, while around the world, new seasons will kick off in popular team sports.
