Yaremchuk was not included in Olympiacos' roster for the Champions League matches

Yaremchuk was not included in Olympiacos' roster for the Champions League matches

Ukrainian forward Roman Yaremchuk was not included in Greek club Olympiacos’ roster for the Champions League third qualifying round matches against Dutch club Nijmegen.

The Piraeus club’s roster for the matches, scheduled for August 4 and 11, does not include the Ukrainian national team forward. Instead, the coaching staff included five other forwards on the list.

As the publication notes, the decision came as a surprise, as Yaremchuk had been getting regular playing time during summer training. He participated in six friendly matches, started twice, and scored a goal in the game against Poland’s Rakow.

According to Sport RBC.UA, the Ukrainian’s absence from the roster may indicate his possible departure from Olympiacos this summer, despite a contract that runs through 2028.

Last season, the 30-year-old forward played 49 matches for the Greek club, scored 14 goals, recorded five assists, and helped the team win the Greek league title and the Greek Cup.

This was reported by Sport RBC.UA, citing the official UEFA website.

As a reminder, UEFA has appointed the refereeing crews for both matches between Kyiv’s “Dynamo” and Azerbaijan’s “Qarabağ” in the third qualifying round of the 2026/2027 Conference League. The first leg in Lublin on August 6 will be officiated by a Danish crew led by Morten Krog, while the second leg in Baku on August 13 will be officiated by English referees led by Stuart Attwell.
