After his fights, Usyk relaxes by playing CS2 and shares videos with his fans
Oleksandr Usyk showed how he spends his time between fights, and it’s not about quiet time or traditional relaxation at all, but about virtual battles in Counter-Strike 2. The world champion shared a video from the game and reminded everyone that he’s been a fan of esports for a long time.
Undisputed heavyweight world champion Oleksandr Usyk has once again reminded us that outside the ring, he leads a completely ordinary life, where there is room not only for training and recovery, but also for computer games, in which, as it turns out, is quite confident.
The Ukrainian boxer posted a video on his Telegram channel showing him playing Counter-Strike 2, demonstrating how he spends his free time between preparing for fights and recovering after bouts.
Undisputed heavyweight world champion Oleksandr Usyk has once again reminded us that outside the ring, he leads a completely ordinary life, where there is room not only for training and recovery, but also for computer games, in which, as it turns out, is quite confident.
The Ukrainian boxer posted a video on his Telegram channel showing him playing Counter-Strike 2, demonstrating how he spends his free time between preparing for fights and recovering from bouts. “I love Counter-Strike; it’s a way for me to switch gears and take my mind off boxing for a bit,” Usyk said earlier, emphasizing that esports is not just a hobby for him, but a way to clear his head after intense training cycles.
As a reminder, on May 23, Usyk won by technical knockout in his fight against Rico Verhoeven, stopping the bout one second before the end of the 11th round and retaining his WBC world title.
However, the fight itself sparked controversy: Usyk’s opponent disagreed with the referee’s decision to stop the fight, claiming he could have continued, and also pointed to the punch statistics, where he looked quite convincing, while even combat sports stars, including Tom Aspinall of the UFC, called the stoppage a “robbery.”
Despite the controversy surrounding the fight, Usyk seems to be calmly switching between real fights and virtual battles, sharing parts of his daily life on social media, which fans find no less interesting than his performances in the ring.
As a reminder, the soccer balls to be used at the 2026 World Cup will need to be charged before each game via built-in motion sensors.
The Spanish national team is the top favorite to win the World Cup, according to the Opta supercomputer. The list of main contenders for the title also includes the teams from England, France, and Argentina.
