Video: Pharrell Williams Created an Artificial Ocean Wave at the Louis Vuitton Show in Paris

Farrell Williams, creative director of Louis Vuitton’s men’s line, presented the brand’s new collection at Paris Fashion Week, creating the most spectacular set of the season.

On the grounds of the Cité Internationale Universitaire de Paris campus, a giant installation featuring an eight-meter-high artificial wave and a real sandy beach was erected for the show.

After the fashion show concluded, all the water used was returned to the city’s water system, and the sand was promised to be donated for the development of local sports fields.

The large-scale installation, 37 meters wide, along with a wooden deck instead of a traditional runway and a glass camper on the shore, recreated the atmosphere of a movie about an endless summer.

The main source of inspiration for the collection’s design was the vibrant culture of California surfing and skateboarding, which the designer harmoniously blended with classic French dandyism.

The new clothing line demonstrates a shift away from excessive theatricality toward practicality, making the pieces appealing to both critics and everyday shoppers.

Pharrell Williams managed to transform the runway into a living space where high fashion meets everyday street style.

This approach has allowed the brand’s team to attract the attention of a younger audience without sacrificing traditional elegance and luxury.
