Video: The goalkeeper for Kyiv's Rebela scored a goal 12 seconds into a Second League match
Maksym Babiychuk, the goalkeeper for Kyiv’s “Rebel,” scored a bizarre goal in a Second League match against Cherkasy’s “Carbon.” The goalkeeper scored just 12 seconds into the game.
After the opening whistle, a “Rebel” player played the ball from midfield and passed it back to Babiychuk. The goalkeeper kicked the ball far forward, but it flew over all the players and the “Karbon” goalkeeper and into the net.
According to “Rebel’s” press service, the goal was scored in the 12th second. This is one of the fastest goals in the history of Ukrainian soccer.
The “Rebel” vs. “Carbon” match was still in progress at the time of publication. The Cherkasy team was leading 4–3.
It should be noted that the 32-year-old Babiychuk previously played for Zaporizhzhia’s “Metalurh,” “Bukovyna,” “Veres,” and Vinnytsia’s “Niva.” In 2014, he was called up to Ukraine’s U-20 national team.
