Nigeria lose to South Korea at the FIBA Women’s World Cup
Nigeria’s women’s basketball team, D’Tigress, lost to South Korea 81:99 in a FIBA Women’s World Cup match. The game took place in Berlin, and Amy Okonkwo was Nigeria’s top scorer.
As Premium Times Nigeria reports, South Korea led 26:22 after the first quarter. In the second quarter, the Koreans extended their lead to nine points, but Nigeria cut it to three before halftime — 45:48.
Grace Efosa made two free throws, reducing Nigeria’s deficit to six points. Later, Pallas Kunaiyi cut the gap to four points.

Okonkwo’s run
Okonkwo scored 10 consecutive points, helping D’Tigress get within one point of their opponents — 58:59. However, the Nigerian team could not maintain the momentum, and South Korea secured an 18-point victory.
