The Russian national team has withdrawn from the rhythmic gymnastics tournament in Romania
The Russian rhythmic gymnastics team will not participate in the Challenge Cup event in Romania due to a ban on the use of the Russian flag and national anthem during the competition.
According to Linar Ginatullin, press secretary of the Russian Gymnastics Federation, the organizers verbally informed the Russian side that if the athletes win, the Russian national flag will not be displayed in the arena and the Russian national anthem will not be played.
The Russian Gymnastics Federation stated that it plans to file a complaint against the tournament organizers.
The Rhythmic Gymnastics Challenge Cup is taking place in Romania from June 26 to 28.
