The Ukrainian national volleyball team crushed Portugal at Euro 2026
The Ukrainian men’s national team secured its fourth consecutive victory at the 2026 European Volleyball Championship. In their latest group stage match, Raul Lozano’s team confidently defeated Portugal.
The Ukrainians didn’t pull ahead right away, but gradually took control of the first set. In the final stretch, the “blue-and-yellows” extended their lead to seven points and comfortably closed out the set.
The second set was also firmly in the Ukrainian team’s control. At one point, Ukraine’s lead reached nine points, and the Portuguese were only able to narrow the gap slightly before the end of the set.
The third set was the most competitive. Early on, the teams were neck and neck, but toward the end, the Ukrainians stepped up their game again and closed out the set with a six-point lead.
This victory marked the Ukrainian national team’s fourth consecutive win in the tournament and secured the team a spot in the European Championship playoffs.
The Ukrainians will play their final group stage match on September 15 against Poland.
