Pakistan's table tennis teams lose opening Asian Games matches — Dawn
In Pakistan, the women's national table tennis team finished Group F of the Asian Games with three 0:3 defeats, without winning a single game. Pakistan's men's team also lost its first two matches, Dawn reports.
Defeat to India
In the final group-stage match on Monday, the Pakistani women lost 0:3 to India at the Sky Hall Toyota arena. Fifteen-year-old Aleena Khan lost to Sutirtha Mukherjee 3:11, 3:11, 4:11 in 10 minutes. Nineteen-year-old Kulsum Khan lost to Sreeja Das in three games — 6:11, 7:11, 5:11.
Fatima Khan lost to Sreeja Akula, whom the publication calls India's highest-ranked table tennis player, 4:11, 4:11, 5:11. Her match lasted 11 minutes.

On Sunday, Pakistan's women's team lost to Singapore and Indonesia by the same 0:3 score. Against Singapore, Aleena Khan, Kulsum Khan and 55-year-old Noushin Aslam each lost in three games. Against Indonesia, Fatima Khan, Kulsum Khan and Noushin Aslam suffered defeats.
Pakistan's men's team lost to Iran and Indonesia on Sunday, with both encounters ending 0:3. Taha Bilal and Abbas Khan did not win a single game in those matches. Mohammad Khan won one game in his match against Indonesia's Mohammad Negara. Later on Monday, Pakistan's men's national team was scheduled to play India.
