116 companies and organizations call for stronger cybersecurity in the AI era
OpenAI, Anthropic, Microsoft, Advanced Micro Devices, and more than 100 other companies and organizations have signed a letter calling on businesses and policymakers to prioritize cybersecurity in the era of artificial intelligence. In total, 116 entities supported the initiative, CNBC Top News reports.
The letter’s authors said there is a “limited window” to strengthen cyber defenses. They urged all organizations to raise requirements for protective tools, upgrade security systems, and use a combination of low-cost and advanced artificial intelligence models.
Funding for infrastructure protection
The signatories also called on the government to take coordinated action to fund cyber defense and expand its availability for resource-constrained critical infrastructure. Examples cited in the letter include hospitals and water treatment plants, which have been important targets of attacks.

Threats from AI models
According to CNBC, sophisticated AI models can organize agentic attacks within minutes. This has increased the need for tools to counter threats associated with artificial intelligence.
The outlet also notes that the market value of specialized companies has risen amid growing demand for cyber defense. CrowdStrike and Palo Alto Networks have more than doubled in value over the past year.
