13-year-old girl from Shanghai earns over 18,000 yuan with AI tool
13-year-old Zhu Shuhan from Shanghai earned more than 18,000 yuan in net income, or about $2,680, from an AI tool for studying. Her product took third place in the Markethon sales competition in Hangzhou, ECNS reports.
Judged by sales
The competition lasted 48 hours, from Friday to Sunday, and brought together more than 50 teams. Unlike contests in which winners are determined by a jury, AI products at Markethon were ranked by actual sales.
Zhu's tool, called Zaichang, allows users to upload a photo of one parent and create a virtual study assistant. If the camera detects that a child is using a phone or moving away from the desk, the virtual father or mother gives a voice reminder. After each study session, the tool also generates a report on attention concentration.

Developed in a few days
Zhu said she first became acquainted with artificial intelligence about a year ago and has some programming experience. She developed Zaichang's main functions in three to four days: she described her ideas to a large language model, which helped organize the operating logic and generate code.
During the competition, the product received nearly 90 orders. Most sales were made through livestreams and short videos promoted by the girl's mother, a livestream host on the Douyin platform.
