Apple has released iOS 26.4 with AI integration and enhanced security
Apple has unveiled the latest major update to its operating system—iOS 26.4.
Although the Siri voice assistant hasn’t undergone any radical changes this time, the developers have introduced a number of innovative features aimed at improving the user experience and data security.
One of the key new features is the Playlist Playground feature in Apple Music.
Now users can create personalized music playlists simply by entering a text description of their mood or idea, after which algorithms will automatically generate a list of tracks.
“Currently, the feature is available only in the U.S.,” the company notes, though it is expected to roll out gradually in other regions.
The music app also gained the “Concerts Nearby” feature, which helps track artist performances in the user’s region.
In addition, the developers have simplified media library management by adding the ability to instantly add a single song to several different playlists at once.
The update introduced eight new emojis and significantly improved the music recognition system.
From now on, the track identification feature can work even without an active internet connection: the system saves the audio fingerprint and displays the result immediately after reconnecting to the network.
Security in iOS 26.4 has been taken to a new level.
The Stolen Device Protection feature is now enabled by default, requiring mandatory two-factor authentication to access sensitive data.
“In addition, iOS 26.4 addresses over 35 system vulnerabilities,” Apple’s cybersecurity experts note.
For drivers, the company has prepared a CarPlay update that features deep integration with leading AI services.
Now, you can interact with ChatGPT, Gemini, and Claude via voice commands directly while driving, significantly expanding the capabilities of the car’s infotainment system.
Changes have also been made to the Apple Podcasts app, which now offers full support for video podcasts with the ability to download them for offline viewing.
Users also now have access to a new Ambient Music widget, expanded subtitle settings, and improvements in the Health and Reminders apps.
