A white hat hacker discovered a critical flaw in the decentralized lottery protocol Foom Cash, which had suffered a $2.26 million exploit, and managed to recover $1.84 million of the stolen funds. The vulnerability stemmed from a missing "shuffling" step in the submission process, which allowed the specialist to forge data and declare themselves the lottery winner. This highlights the critical importance of thoroughly auditing blockchain protocols before deployment.

This incident is likely to increase the community’s focus on cybersecurity in decentralized finance products and encourage stronger protective measures moving forward.
