Dyson unveils Nurovi robots and CameraJet oral care system
Dyson showcased its Nurovi line of cleaning robots at the Dyson Unveiled event in Berlin. Its first oral care system, CameraJet, was separately presented in Paris and launched for sale in South Korea on the same day, The Korea Herald reports.
Dyson chief engineer Jake Dyson said the company is shifting from focusing solely on mechanical characteristics to devices capable of interpreting data about their surroundings and responding to it. According to him, Dyson plans to use artificial intelligence, machine vision systems and machine learning in products for oral care, hair care and home care.
Nurovi robots
The Nurovi series consists of three models with automated sensors and different cleaning mechanisms. The R2 Nurovi Wash+Dry has a triangular rotating attachment for wet cleaning along edges and in corners. A piezoelectric sensor measures dust particles in real time and automatically adjusts suction power, while the docking station washes and dries the attachment after cleaning.

The R3 Nurovi Spot+Scrub UV is equipped with a stain detection system based on artificial intelligence, machine vision, ultraviolet and green lighting. Dyson says the robot identifies soiled areas and cleans them again until the stain is removed. The model's suction power is 30,000 pascals — according to the company, 65% more than its previous cleaning robot. The R1 Nurovi Dry is designed for dry cleaning and uses a Twin-capture system to separate large debris from fine dust.
CameraJet system
CameraJet combines an electric toothbrush and liquid-jet cleaning. The device has a 100,000-pixel macro camera that analyzes 28 images per second. According to Dyson, the machine learning system was trained on 470,000 dental images so it can identify gaps between teeth and help guide cleaning. The company also said that 661 engineers worked on the product for six years.
CameraJet supports Wi-Fi and Bluetooth and works with the MyDyson app for real-time viewing, cleaning recommendations and personalized settings. Dyson said the camera is activated only during real-time viewing or automatic jet cleaning, and images are stored neither on the device nor in cloud storage. In South Korea, CameraJet costs 749,000 won, or about $550.
