EcoFlow unveils RIVER Gen4 portable power stations
EcoFlow has unveiled the fourth generation of RIVER portable power stations — the RIVER 260 Gen4 and RIVER 520 Gen4 models. As The Verge reports, their battery capacities are 256Wh and 512Wh, respectively.
Capacity and ports
The RIVER 260 Gen4 has four USB ports, one AC outlet, and a maximum continuous output of 300W. The RIVER 520 Gen4 has the same set of USB ports and two AC outlets.
According to the publication, the batteries in these models store approximately 2.5 and five times more energy than the largest power banks allowed on airplanes. Both stations use lithium iron phosphate (LFP) batteries, which The Verge describes as more durable and less volatile.

Compactness and use cases
EcoFlow claims high energy-storage density, which has made the stations lighter and more compact than devices with similar specifications. The publication notes that such models may be suitable for overnight stays outdoors or on-location photo shoots.
According to The Verge's estimate, the RIVER 520 Gen4 can keep a standard American refrigerator running for about four hours during a power outage.
