Hong Kong ranks first in Asia for technology ecosystem development
Hong Kong’s technology innovation ecosystem scored 370 points, ranking first in Asia and fifth globally. The data are contained in a joint white paper by the Hong Kong Science and Technology Parks Corporation (HKSTP) and market analytics platform CB Insights, ECNS reports.
Startup assessment
The white paper’s authors identified high-growth startups and companies that could become future “unicorns.” To do so, they assessed business growth dynamics, the ability to attract funding, market potential, and leadership strength.

The document also notes that mainland China is leading Asia’s wave of physical artificial intelligence development. At the same time, Asia leads the world in the growth rate of robotics and artificial intelligence funding.
White paper presentation
The white paper was presented at an event marking HKSTP’s 25th anniversary. The corporation was founded in 2001. According to ECNS, HKSTP is working to develop new industrialization and smart manufacturing, as well as strengthen Hong Kong’s innovation-driven economy.
