Google Translate on iPhone now offers real-time translation through headphones

Google Translate now allows users to translate conversations in real time via wireless earbuds on an iPhone. The tool is free to use and supports over 70 languages, making it useful for travel and communication.

This was reported by BGR.

The feature allows for the translation of live conversations directly into the user’s ear. To use it, simply connect any wireless headphones and launch the app. The service is already available in Germany, France, Italy, Japan, the UK, Spain, and Thailand.

As the publication notes, this is an expansion of the previous live translation feature, which debuted on Android smartphones in 2025. “Now it has become more versatile and accessible to a wider audience,” Google emphasizes.

Unlike Apple’s feature, which works only with AirPods and devices supporting Apple Intelligence, Google’s new service is not tied to a specific brand of headphones or smartphone. However, data processing takes place in the cloud, which may raise privacy concerns.

Techbuzz notes: “Despite this, the feature is yet another example of how AI is gradually finding practical applications.” Thanks to the update, Google Translate has become even more useful for travel, language learning, and everyday communication.

You can use the new feature right now—just connect your headphones and open the Google Translate app on your iPhone.

Apple recently officially released a critical update, iOS 16.7.15, designed for owners of previous-generation devices.
