Chinese companies export AI tennis robots to more than 60 countries
In China, artificial intelligence-powered tennis robots are becoming increasingly popular both domestically and abroad. They allow users to train without booking sessions with a coach or finding a partner, ECNS reports.
Robot capabilities
Unlike conventional ball-serving machines, mobile robots can move around the court, hit shots at different paces, and react to balls flying in their direction. According to the publication, the devices can sustain rallies at the level of intermediate amateur tennis players.
ECNS also noted that using such robots can reduce the cost of individual coaching sessions by at least half.

Rental and exports
The technology has become more accessible thanks to shared rental services. At tennis courts, players can scan a code and rent a robot for about 60–120 yuan, or $8–17, per hour. Such devices are already used in clubs in major Chinese cities.
Chinese companies export tennis robots to more than 60 countries. OneRobotics has shipped about 6,000 devices worldwide, with overseas buyers accounting for more than 70% of its sales. Another company, Pongbot, has sold more than 100,000 robots.
