Whoop reports more than 90% growth in female members in the GCC
In the United Arab Emirates, Whoop reported growth in the number of women among members of its community in the Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC) countries. Over the year, this figure in the region increased by more than 90%, the company’s chief medical officer, Ami Bhatt, said.
As The National reports, growth has been recorded in every GCC market tracked by the company. According to Bhatt, more women in the region are using Whoop devices to better understand their health.
Women among new members
According to Bhatt, the global number of women among Whoop community members more than doubled over the past year and grew faster than the number of men. Women now account for approximately one in four new service members.
The number of female users aged 40 and over has tripled since January 2025. According to the company, the fastest growth was recorded among women over 60 and under 20, at 138% and 131% year-on-year, respectively.

Bhatt also said that menstruation is the second most frequently logged entry by Whoop members in GCC countries. The company, she said, is investing in research into menstrual cycles, pregnancy, algorithms for women, menopause, strength training, and female athletes’ outcomes.
Partnership with Natural Cycles
Last month, Whoop entered into a partnership with Natural Cycles, the developer of an app for fertility tracking and non-hormonal contraception. Compatible Whoop devices can automatically transfer nighttime skin temperature data to the app, which is used to determine daily fertility status.
According to Bhatt, the integration is intended to help female members connect reproductive health data with sleep, recovery, and overall well-being. Whoop operates on an annual subscription model, unlike many other fitness tracker manufacturers.
In March, Whoop announced that it had raised $575 million in a Series G investment round led by Mubadala Investment Company, 2PointZero Group, and Qatar Investment Authority. Earlier, Whoop CEO Will Ahmed said the company planned to open a second office in the UAE.
