The Most Reliable Smartphone of 2026 Has Been Named
Experts at Consumer Reports have released their rankings of the most reliable smartphones of 2026, evaluating the devices based on durability, performance stability, and user satisfaction.
The Apple iPhone 16 Pro Max took first place. The iPhone 17 Pro Max and iPhone 17 Pro also made the top three. Overall, Apple smartphones occupied the top 13 spots on the list.
Experts note that Apple’s high rankings are due to rigorous testing of the devices for resistance to drops and exposure to liquids, as well as assessments of repairability and durability.
The Samsung Galaxy S25 Ultra was the top-ranked Android smartphone, coming in at 14th place.
The Nothing Phone 3a and Nothing Phone 3a Pro received the lowest ratings—they ended up at the bottom of the ranking based on both technical performance and user reviews.
The ranking was compiled based on an analysis of over 186,000 smartphones purchased between 2019 and 2025.
