Nike unveils neuroscience-based footwear to help athletes stay calm, focused, and present

Nike has introduced its first neuroscience-based footwear — the Mind 001 and Mind 002 — designed to activate sensory receptors in the feet, helping athletes stay calm, focused, and aware before and after competition.

Developed over more than a decade by Nike’s Mind Science Department, the shoes feature 22 independent foam nodes that respond to pressure and motion, enhancing the mind–body connection and improving focus and recovery.

The Mind 001 is built for comfort and everyday balance, while the Mind 002 offers stability and performance precision. According to Nike, this innovation marks the beginning of a new era in sportswear — footwear that’s not just worn, but truly felt.
