OpenClaw will move under the management of a specially created fund and will maintain its open-source format. OpenAI will continue to support the project. Steinberger said his goal is to make agents widely accessible, including for elderly people, and believes that partnering with OpenAI is the fastest way to scale the impact and elevate the product.
This move signals OpenAI’s active development of multi-agent systems, which could fundamentally change how users interact with AI. Going forward, it may lead to more flexible and personalized assistants.
