Enhanced Games, the organizer, reported a quarterly loss of nearly $62 million

Enhanced Group, the company that organized the Enhanced Games competition in Las Vegas, reported a net loss of nearly $62 million in the second quarter. A significant portion of the losses was attributed to hosting the sporting event, where participants were allowed to use performance-enhancing drugs that are typically banned in professional sports, according to TechCrunch.

Enhanced Games took place in May. The organizers presented the tournament as a format capable of changing the world of organized sports. However, only one world record was set during the competition—in swimming. TechCrunch notes that records are set relatively frequently in this sport.

Enhanced Group was founded in 2023. Earlier this year, the company held an initial public offering at a valuation of $1.2 billion. It sells personalized medical products through a digital telemedicine platform. According to TechCrunch, its offerings include peptides, testosterone injections, FDA-approved GLP-1 drugs for weight loss, and other similar products.

In its second-quarter report, the company also reported revenue of $17.7 million. Most of this revenue came from sponsorship deals related to Enhanced Games, rather than its telemedicine division. The report contains little information about the results of the company’s core business. According to TechCrunch, these figures cast doubt on previous statements by Enhanced executives regarding the annual hosting of competitions.

The company also announced the launch of the online series Enhanced Breakers. In its report, Enhanced Group noted that this format requires only a fraction of the costs of a full-scale event and is intended to sustain the interest of athletes, audiences, and sponsors throughout the year.

TechCrunch also highlights the growth of the peptide market. The publication attributes this, in particular, to the FDA’s decision under the Donald Trump administration to reclassify a number of substances that had long been in a legal gray area. However, an additional review process must still take place before they can be sold.
