Oura indefinitely postpones IPO worth up to $2.2 billion — TechCrunch

Smart ring maker Oura has indefinitely postponed an initial public offering worth up to $2.2 billion. The company explained the decision by uncertainty in the IPO market, TechCrunch reports.

Oura had filed to sell 55 million shares at a price of $40 to $44 per share. At the midpoint of that range, the company’s valuation could have reached $15 billion. The company did not disclose further details regarding the postponement of the offering.

Company plans

Oura CEO Tom Hale said that the IPO is only one stage in the company’s development. According to him, Oura aims to conduct a successful offering for employees and investors and can choose the timing of its stock market debut.

The company said its new Oura Ring 5 has been well received by the market. The number of paid service members grew to 5.7 million from 5 million at the end of June. Oura also expects its total revenue in fiscal 2026 to increase by 90% compared with the previous year, when it stood at $907.9 million.

Postponed share sales

The IPO postponement also delays the use of funds the company expected to receive from the offering. Oura planned to direct most of the proceeds toward paying tax obligations related to employee equity grants that were to take effect upon listing.

Oura’s early investor, Forerunner Ventures, intended to sell its entire 9.3% stake during the IPO. At a share price at the midpoint of the stated range, the fund could have received about $1.2 billion. Other shareholders awaiting liquidity will also have to wait.
