AI-generated passwords found vulnerable to hacking
A study by Irregular revealed that passwords created by artificial intelligence (Claude, ChatGPT, Gemini) are easily cracked by hackers. Although such passwords seem complex and receive high ratings on online checkers, their structure is predictable and contains repetitive patterns, which makes guessing them much easier.
Experts identified that these passwords are vulnerable to brute-force attacks commonly used by cybercriminals. They recommend avoiding AI-based password generators and instead using cryptographic random number generators embedded in password managers such as Bitwarden and 1Password.
Therefore, to ensure security, it is crucial to rely on more robust password creation tools rather than AI generation. This approach can reduce the risk of data breaches and malicious intrusions.
