Pentagon develops AI tools to identify China's cyber vulnerabilities
The Pentagon is actively deploying artificial intelligence to pinpoint weaknesses in China’s infrastructure, including power grids and secure networks, as it prepares for a potential future military conflict. This initiative aims to automate intelligence gathering and accelerate target selection processes.
According to the Financial Times, the project is designed to enhance US cyber operations against China. The US government has already allocated about $200 million in contracts to leading AI companies such as OpenAI, Anthropic, and Google. The Pentagon has also warned Anthropic of possible sanctions if it refuses to participate in defense-related tasks.
In the long term, the US aims to diminish the influence of Iran, Russia, and China by establishing control in regions with potential military threats.
