The Pixel Watch 5 has gained Gemini's offline capabilities and health updates
The Google Pixel Watch 5 will cost $399. The main changes in the new model are software-related: the watch now features advanced Gemini AI capabilities, and most of the updates focus on health and physical activity, according to The Verge.
The device has a slightly faster Qualcomm processor and a slightly larger battery. Its price is $50 higher than last year’s model. External changes include a case in a satin pyrite finish, several new strap colors, and a special Steph Curry Special Edition.
Gemini on the watch can now operate without an internet connection for simple tasks, such as starting timers and launching apps. The Verge reporter Victoria Song noted that during the demonstration, offline command execution was noticeably slower. The assistant will also suggest actions based on context: for example, after receiving a message asking about availability, the user will be able to check Google Calendar directly from the watch.

An icon has appeared on the watch face to display real-time information, including timers, Uber estimated arrival times, and workout data. The “pinchy pinch” and “wrist-flick” gestures, which became available on the Pixel Watch after a software update in December, have been more deeply integrated into the Wear OS 7 interface.
Other announced changes include improved GPS maps and tracking of trends related to insulin resistance.
