Samsung Electronics has raised prices for its flagship Galaxy S26 smartphones in South Korea amid rising memory chip costs. According to Channel NewsAsia, citing the Yonhap news agency, prices increased across the entire lineup, although the size of the increase depends on the model.
Base model price
The price of the base Galaxy S26 on South Korea's domestic market increased by 149,600 won to 1,403,600 won. At the exchange rate cited in the report, this is approximately $1,029.94. The article cites an exchange rate of 1,362.8 won per dollar.

Prices for other models in the series were also raised by 149,600 won. The exception was the 1TB Galaxy S26 Ultra version: its price increased by 270,000 won to 2,821,500 won.
Rising component costs
The Galaxy S26 was released in March. At that time, Samsung set higher prices for certain models in the United States and South Korea. As Channel NewsAsia notes, the rapid rise in memory chip prices is putting pressure on the manufacturer's margins, while the price increase is testing demand for the company's flagship devices.
