The Verge gave the Sony A7R VI a score of 9 out of 10
The Sony A7R VI mirrorless camera received a score of 9 out of 10 in a review by The Verge. The publication highlighted the 66.8-megapixel sensor, full-resolution continuous shooting at up to 30 frames per second, and the absence of viewfinder blackout during such shooting.
According to The Verge, the camera features a fully stacked sensor and a new Bionz XR2 processor. This allows for fast capture of RAW files at a resolution of 9,984 × 6,656 pixels. The faster sensor also, according to the publication, makes continuous use of the electronic shutter more practical and ensures silent shooting.
Among the A7R VI’s other features, The Verge highlights in-camera stabilization of up to 8.5 stops of exposure, two USB-C ports, and Sony’s new AI-based autofocus system. The publication also cited the continuous autofocus tracking system as one of the camera’s key advantages. The model is capable of recording video in 8K.

The previous Sony A7R V captured 60-megapixel images at a rate of up to 10 frames per second with a mechanical shutter. At the same time, The Verge noted that the A7R VI’s ergonomics are inferior to those of the Sony A9 III and A1 II, and the new camera is not compatible with batteries from older Sony bodies.
The price of the Sony A7R VI on the manufacturer’s website is $4,500. At B&H Photo and Adorama, as noted by The Verge, the camera is priced at $4,498.
