Xiaomi unveils smart air conditioner that detects people in the room
Chinese tech giant Xiaomi has launched the Mijia Air Conditioner Human-Sensing Wind 1.5HP, featuring built-in millimeter wave radars that precisely detect human presence within a room. This allows the device to automatically adjust airflow direction and intensity, either diverting the cold air gently away, focusing it nearby, or directing it exactly where someone is seated. When the room is empty, the air conditioner switches to an energy-saving mode.

The air conditioner operates quietly at about 16 dB, quickly cools a room within a few minutes, and can disperse air up to 10 meters away. It is controllable via the Mi Home app or Xiaomi’s voice assistant, XiaoAI.
This innovation represents a step forward in intelligent, energy-efficient climate control that enhances user comfort. Such technologies are likely to increase the popularity of smart air conditioners in the near future.
