YouTube Premium is raising the prices of its individual and family plans for users in Singapore. The platform notified subscribers of the price change via email, according to Channel NewsAsia.
A monthly individual subscription will cost 15.98 Singapore dollars, up from the previous price of 13.98 Singapore dollars. The price of the family plan, which can cover up to six users from the same household, will increase from 27.98 to 31.98 Singapore dollars per month.

In a letter, YouTube explained that the price increase is necessary to continue providing the service and developing its features. The company noted that the update will also help support the creators and artists whose content is viewed by the platform’s users.
The previous price increase in Singapore took place about two years ago. At that time, the individual plan rose from 11.98 to 13.98 Singapore dollars, and the family plan from 17.98 to 27.98 Singapore dollars. A YouTube Premium subscription in the country includes ad-free viewing, background playback, the ability to download videos for offline viewing, and full access to YouTube Music. According to YouTube, the Premium service has over 125 million users worldwide.
