Attorney Shevchuk won the court case against Lachen and gave him 24 hours to apologize
Attorney Oleksiy Shevchuk announced that he had received a court ruling requiring blogger Igor Lachenkov to publicly apologize for spreading false information.
The lawyer accuses the owner of a popular Telegram channel of systematically discrediting his professional activities and of acting on behalf of external interests.
Shevchuk emphasized that this court case is the first step in a large-scale strategy to hold social media administrators accountable for their content.
According to the lawyer, the activities of certain platforms have turned into a business built on manipulation and deliberate harm to Ukraine’s national interests.
The author of the post emphasized that Telegram channels have no right to assume the functions of state bodies or replace official institutions.
He is convinced that the era of impunity for defamation under the guise of journalism must remain in the past for the Ukrainian information space.
“I know for certain that some Telegram channels, in particular Igor Lachenkov’s channel, are engaged in systematic subversive activities. They are being used—whether intentionally or not—against our state, against the stable functioning of state bodies, with the aim of publicly humiliating, discrediting, and creating chaos in the information space,” stated Oleksiy Shevchuk.
The lawyer called on other citizens who consider themselves victims of such publications to join the legal fight against information manipulation.
His team plans to compile all relevant court rulings for a subsequent appeal to the messenger’s administration.
The ultimate goal of this initiative is to block channels that, according to Shevchuk, threaten the country’s stability under martial law.
The lawyers plan to send the relevant complaints and evidence directly to Telegram’s headquarters in the United Arab Emirates.
The lawyer separately addressed the opponent, setting a strict deadline for him to comply with the court order to refute the information.
Shevchuk emphasized that he would continue to demand accountability for every instance of false information published by Lachenkov.
“Mr. Igor, I am giving you 24 hours to issue a public apology. The clock is ticking,” the lawyer concluded in his official statement.
As a reminder, Filatov and blogger Lachen exchanged threats on social media.
Additionally, Oleksiy Shevchuk joined the selection committee for the position of deputy head of the SAP.
