A court has sentenced an FSB agent, who was caught planning attacks on western regions of Ukraine, to 15 years in prison with confiscation of property.
This was reported by the SBU.
According to the investigation, the perpetrator passed information to the Russians regarding the locations of operational airfields and the flight schedules of the Ukrainian Armed Forces’ combat aviation.
The occupiers planned to use this data to launch ballistic missile strikes while the aircraft were at the airfields.
The agent was detained at his residence in the Zhytomyr region. Law enforcement officers also managed to secure the Defense Forces’ facilities that were under threat.
As law enforcement established, the man was recruited via a Telegram channel promising “easy money.” To gather information, he set up an observation post with binoculars on the roof of a building.
During a search, his phone—containing evidence of communication with the FSB—and optical equipment were seized.
The court found him guilty of treason under martial law.
The SBU is issuing warningsabout enemy recruitment following the terrorist attack in Bucha.
As a reminder, a double terrorist attack occurred near a residential building in Bucha this morning, injuring police officers.
The SBU also announced that it has charged a woman from Kharkiv with luring police officers into a terrorist attack in Lviv.
