The AMCU has approved Silpo's acquisition of Eurotek's assets
The Antimonopoly Committee of Ukrainehas granted Silpo permission to acquire control over the real estate and retail equipment of the Eurotek group of companies.
This is stated in the AMCU’s publisheddecisions dated May 14.
The AMCU reviewed a total of five applications from Silpo-Food LLC regarding the acquisition of control over the real estate and equipment of the Eurotek group of companies and approved them.
The Eurotek Group, which has been operating in the market since 1995 and unites the Arsen, Fresh, Soyuz, and Kvartal supermarket chains, is closing all of its stores in Ukraine; the last day of operation is scheduled for May 31.
The "Arsen" chain has six stores in Lviv, as well as two each in Ivano-Frankivsk and Rivne.
The "Soyuz" (14 stores) and "Kvartal" (23 discount stores) chains operated in Kyiv, Chernihiv, Pryluky, Slavutych, Zhytomyr, and Berdychiv.
The "Fresh" chain operated nine supermarkets in Kryvyi Rih, Kherson, and Rivne.
According to the Ukrainian Retailers Association, "Silpo" will be able to strengthen its presence in western and northern Ukraine by utilizing the existing retail locations and infrastructure of the retailer exiting the market.

In Kyiv, two Silpo supermarkets will operate around the clock.
Supermarkets in Kyiv may switch to round-the-clock operation: the Ministry of Economy has reached out to the chains.
