Anti-corruption authorities have launched an investigation into the lifestyle of Valery Yankovsky, who is believed to be the head of Customs Clearance Department No. 1 at the Ustyluh Customs Post of the Volyn Customs Office.

As part of the investigation, anti-corruption officials sent a request to banking institutions to disclose information—which constitutes bank secrecy—regarding Valery Olegovich Yankovsky. This surname, first name, and patronymic match the details of Volyn customs officer Valery Yankovsky, whose financial disclosure statements are publicly available.
The request was made as part of monitoring the lifestyle of the declarant Valery Yankovsky in accordance with the Law of Ukraine “On Preventing Corruption” and the Procedure for Monitoring Lifestyle. Banks are required to provide information on existing accounts, account balances, debits and credits, payment purposes, and counterparty details from the date the accounts were opened through December 31, 2022, as well as information on financial transactions not involving the opening of accounts for the period from 2019 to 2022. During this period, Yankovskyi worked as a senior state inspector in Customs Clearance Department No. 6 at the Yagodin customs post.
According to Yankovsky’s 2025 declaration, he and his daughter live in a 101.2-square-meter apartment owned by his partner, Natalia Serhiivna Slavina. A 578-square-meter plot of land is also registered in Slavina’s name.
In addition, Valery Yankovsky uses another apartment with an area of 54.3 square meters, which is apparently registered in the name of his relative, Neonila Mykolayivna Yankovska.
Yankovskyi himself earned 771,754 hryvnias in 2025 from his primary job at the customs office, and among his financial assets, the official listed 100,000 hryvnias and 5,000 U.S. dollars in cash, as well as over 18,700 hryvnias in bank accounts. The customs officer’s common-law wife, Natalia Slavina, declared 342,822 hryvnias in salary from the Ivan Ohienko Kamianets-Podilskyi National University and 192,131 hryvnias in insurance payments.
In addition, Slavina, Yankovsky, and his daughter have a number of accounts in Ukrainian banks, the contents of which are likely of interest to anti-corruption authorities.
