A father of five was unlawfully detained at the TCC, and the deferral disappeared from Reserve+
In Kyiv, a man with five minor children was unlawfully detained at the TCC facility.
Following the intervention of representatives of the Ombudsman’s Office, he was released, and a criminal investigation was opened into the possible violation of his rights.
According to Dmytro Lubinets, the man was detained near his home. He presented his military registration documents and the birth certificates of all his children, but he was taken to the TCC for a medical examination without a formal report being drawn up and was kept in custody.
During the Ombudsman’s Office’s intervention, it was discovered that the man had previously been granted a deferment in the “Reserve+” app, but at the time of the check, it had disappeared from the app. Lubinec emphasized that the circumstances surrounding its disappearance must be determined by the investigation.
In August, following a report from the Ombudsman’s Office, a pretrial investigation was launched. Law enforcement officials are identifying those involved in the incident and assessing their actions.
