The BEB shut down two underground poker clubs in Kyiv with turnover in the millions
The Economic Security Bureau shut down two illegal poker clubs in Kyiv that were operating without the proper licenses. According to the investigation, the organizers of the underground gambling operation were making millions in profits, and law enforcement is currently investigating their activities.
Detectives from the Economic Security Bureau’s Kyiv Regional Office determined that four residents of the capital had organized the operation of these underground establishments in the Holosiivskyi and Podilskyi districts.
The clubs regularly hosted poker tournaments and cash games. Visitors purchased chips with cash, placed bets, and could exchange them back for cash after the game ended. The organizers kept a 5% commission from each pot.

During the searches, detectives seized cash in national and foreign currencies, poker tables, chips, playing cards, cell phones, bank cards, and rough accounting records.

One of the organizers was notified of charges under Part 1 of Article 203-2 of the Criminal Code—illegal activity involving the organization or conduct of gambling or lotteries without the appropriate license. He faces a fine ranging from 170,000 to 850,000 hryvnias.
