In Odesa, a TCC officer is suspected of accepting a bribe in the form of vouchers for 1,000 liters of diesel fuel
In Odesa, law enforcement officials notified an officer of the district Military Registration and Enlistment Office of the charges against him; he is suspected of extorting an illegal benefit in exchange for “resolving an issue” related to military registration. According to the investigation, the official allegedly demanded vouchers for 1,000 liters of diesel fuel in exchange for a promise to remove a man from the wanted list.
According to the Odesa Regional Police, the lieutenant from the mobilization department of one of the district military registration and enlistment offices was exposed by regional police investigators in collaboration with Security Service of Ukraine (SBU) officers. He has now been notified of the charges, and the court has imposed a preventive measure.
According to the investigation, the military officer learned from an acquaintance about a man who was wanted for violating military registration rules. He then offered his “help” and claimed he could resolve the issue through his connections.

Investigators believe that the officer promised to have the man’s data removed from the “Oberig” system, arrange for him to be referred to a military medical commission, and influence the commission’s decision so that the man would be deemed fit for service only in units that do not carry out assault missions. Specifically, this included logistics, communications, training centers, support units, or even service at the Territorial Military Command.
According to law enforcement officials, the suspect demanded 1,000 liters of diesel fuel in exchange for this assistance. The transfer of the illegal benefit took place in the form of 100 vouchers, each worth 10 liters.

After receiving the vouchers, the officer was detained. He was subsequently charged under Part 3 of Article 369-2 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine—receiving an unlawful benefit in exchange for influencing the decision-making of persons authorized to perform state functions, combined with the extortion of such a benefit.
Currently, the court has remanded the suspect in custody with the right to post bail of nearly 1.5 million hryvnias. If found guilty, the man faces up to eight years in prison with confiscation of property.
At this time, the Odesa Regional Territorial Control and Security Service has not provided any official comments regarding this situation.
