The Brovary Court in Kyiv Oblast has switched to a special operating mode
The Brovary City and District Court of Kyiv Oblast will operate under special conditions from October 5 through October 30. This decision was made to protect the lives and health of judges, court staff, and visitors.
As stated in the decree, the reason for this is the constant air raid alerts and heavy shelling of Kyiv and the Kyiv Region, and the goal is to protect the lives and health of judges, court staff, and visitors.

Judges are advised to:
- Refrain from holding open court hearings involving parties to legal proceedings. If hearings are already scheduled for this period, it is recommended, where possible, to reschedule them for another date, providing advance notice to those participating in them.
- To hear only urgent court cases—in particular, matters concerning pretrial detention and the extension of detention periods.
- In the event of an air raid alert in Brovary and the Brovary District, judges and court staff must immediately leave their workplaces and proceed to the nearest shelter.
“Formally, this is not an order to completely suspend court operations. The document establishes a special regime, and the wording regarding open hearings is advisory in nature. But the practical consequence is obvious: in October 2026, it may be difficult to attend a regular open court hearing at the Brovary Court, and the main focus will be on hearing urgent cases,” explained attorney Dmytro Buzanov.
At the same time, the attorney emphasized that the court has provided for the need to give advance notice to participants in rescheduled hearings. According to him, the parties, attorneys, and other participants in the proceedings should verify the date and time of the hearing in advance rather than travel to court “blindly.”
This was reported with reference to Court Order No. 8s-o.
