Budanov stated that Ukraine is ready to train its allies in modern warfare

Ukraine is ready to share its combat experience and modern warfare technologies with its Western partners. As reported on May 18, this was stated by Kirill Budanov, head of the Main Intelligence Directorate, in an interview with the British newspaper The Times, emphasizing that the Ukrainian army has acquired unique skills in the context of a full-scale war with Russia.

According to Budanov, Ukraine is gradually transitioning from being a recipient of military aid to an exporter of technology and combat experience. He noted that the full-scale war has significantly accelerated the development of Ukraine’s defense-tech sector.

“We are developing much faster because we are at war… we can share this knowledge,” Budanov said.

He also drew attention to the issue of modern air defense. According to Budanov, the West is wasting expensive missiles to intercept cheap drones, while missile production takes years, whereas drones can be assembled in a matter of days.

The head of the Presidential Office emphasized that Ukraine is ready to help its allies build multi-layered defense systems. “Ukraine is eager to lend a helping hand. If it’s not needed, no one will force it on anyone,” he stated.

As a reminder, Budanov stated that Russia continues to attempt his assassination even during negotiations.

Ukraine is ready for dialogue with Russia provided Moscow is genuinely committed to serious talks, but such meetings require careful preparation. Any direct contacts between the leaders of the warring parties do not occur spontaneously or via ordinary telephone communication.
