Budanov stated that Putin will inevitably be held accountable

Kyrylo Budanov, Head of the Office of the President, drew parallels between the crimes of the Soviet regime and Russia’s current aggression against Ukraine in a statement marking the Day of Remembrance for Victims of Political Repression. He emphasized that, in his words, “every tyrant will face justice.”

He said this in a post on Telegram.

He emphasized that Sandarmokh, Bykivnia, and Bucha are “links in the same chain of Russian terror,” and the main difference today is that Ukraine has “a voice, an army, and the will” to fight the aggressor.

Budanov noted that tyranny begins “with fear and silence, and ends with mass graves.” At the same time, he emphasized that modern Ukraine is no longer a “defenseless target of repression,” and the response to Russian aggression has become “the daily elimination of the enemy on the approaches to our freedom.”

“Our agency is the best memorial to those who did not survive. Every tyrant will receive his sentence—just and inevitable,” the Head of the Office of the President emphasized.

Budanov also stressed the importance of continuing the fight for Ukraine’s victory.

As a reminder, Budanov stated that Russia continues to attempt his assassination even during negotiations.

Ukraine is ready for dialogue with Russia provided Moscow is genuinely committed to serious talks, but such meetings require careful preparation. Any direct contacts between the leaders of the warring states do not occur spontaneously or via ordinary telephone communication.
