Thanks to "Army+," soldiers are returning from the Northwest Military District in large numbers

Thanks to "Army+," soldiers are returning from the Northwest Military District in large numbers

In just a few days, service members submitted nearly 200 reports via the “Army+” app requesting to return after leaving their units without permission. Some of them have already received approval and were able to return to duty in their chosen units.

The mechanism for the return of service members who left their units without permission via the “Army+” digital service has begun operating in practice and is already showing initial results, as, according to Minister of Digital Transformation Mykhailo Fedorov, about two hundred reports were received within a few days of the system’s launch. Of these, 51 have already been approved, allowing the service members to officially resume their service and join the units they selected themselves.

Fedorov explained that the return process has been simplified as much as possible and moved to a digital format: a servicemember can log into the app, select available Defense Forces units, submit an electronic report, and then receive guidance at every stage of the process. This approach, he said, should reduce bureaucratic delays and enable people to return to active duty more quickly.

Separately, the minister shared the story of a servicemember with the call sign “Gor,” who has already used this mechanism to return to service, noting that he was able to choose a new unit and continue carrying out combat missions. Public statements also emphasize that a dedicated support hotline is available for those who wish to return.

Fedorov reminded that those whose unauthorized absence from their unit was documented within the specified time frame can submit a report via “Army+,” and the service itself will remain available until September 20, 2026. In addition, the Ministry of Defense has a hotline available for consultations, where individuals can receive clarification on the procedure and next steps. Defense Minister Mykhailo Fedorov announced this on Telegram.

The Security Service of Ukraine, in cooperation with the State Bureau of Investigations and the National Police, has successfully dismantled eleven more large-scale networks involved in illegal travel abroad and draft evasion.
