Four DNR deputies have been charged in connection with the mobilization of Donetsk region residents
Law enforcement officials have charged four members of the so-called “DPR People’s Council” in absentia; according to the investigation, they facilitated the forced mobilization of residents of the occupied Donetsk region into the Russian army.
According to the investigation, in February 2022, they supported a decision on general mobilization in the temporarily occupied territory.
Following this, approximately 60,000 men were forcibly mobilized through illegal “military registration offices” and sent to fight against Ukraine.
All four suspects are charged with violating the laws and customs of war. Two of them had previously been convicted in absentia for crimes against Ukraine’s national security.
