The State Bureau of Investigation detained a TCC employee for assaulting a 60-year-old man in Volyn

The State Bureau of Investigations has detained an employee of the Kovel Territorial Center for Combating Organized Crime who is suspected of assaulting a 60-year-old man in Volyn.

According to the investigation, the incident occurred on March 20 in the village of Zabolotia.

TCK employees approached a local resident who was fishing, even though he is not subject to mobilization due to his age. Law enforcement officials claim that the man’s arm was broken, that a stun gun and pepper spray were used against him, and that his car was damaged.

As a result, the victim sustained moderate injuries.

Meanwhile, the Volyn Regional TCC claims that the man provoked the conflict himself, refused to show his documents, and struck one of the soldiers. They deny using a stun gun and claim that there was no serious beating.

The team leader has already been notified of charges under the article on intentional infliction of moderate bodily harm. The court imposed house arrest as a preventive measure.

The investigation is ongoing, and charges are being prepared against other participants in the incident.

Charges have been filed against top SBU officials who “protected” amber mining operations.

The deputy head of the SBU in Rivne Oblast received over $22,000 from a businessman through the same intermediary in exchange for ensuring unimpeded amber mining.
